Cookie Statement
Last Updated: August 28, 2026
This Cookie Statement explains how MKM & Associates Structural Engineering uses cookies and similar technologies on mkmassociates.com. It should be read alongside our Privacy Statement.
1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the site owner.
Similar technologies include local storage, which stores information in your browser in much the same way, and pixels or tags, which are small pieces of code that can record that a page was viewed.
Some of these are set by our website directly. Others are set by outside providers whose content or functionality appears on our pages.
2. Categories We Use
Necessary (Always Active)
These are required for the website to function, to appear as designed, or to be protected against abuse. They cannot be turned off through our consent banner, because the site would not work correctly without them.
Preferences (Requires Consent)
These remember choices you make, such as display settings, so the site behaves consistently on your return.
Statistics (Requires Consent)
These would help us understand how visitors use the website by collecting and reporting information about page visits and browsing activity. This information is sent to the analytics provider.
Marketing (Requires Consent)
These are used to track visitors across websites so that advertising can be targeted to them. This tracking is performed by third-party advertisers.
3. Providers Used on This Website
The following outside providers may set cookies or receive information about your visit. Anything listed under Requires Consent does not load until you allow it through our consent banner.
Necessary (Always Active)
Squarespace — our website platform. Sets cookies required for the site and its forms to operate, including protection against cross-site request forgery.
Cookiebot — our consent management platform. Records your consent choice so we do not ask again on every page, and so we have a record that the choice was made.
Google reCAPTCHA — protects our project inquiry form from automated spam submissions. Google receives information about your visit when this loads. Without it, the form would be unusable.
Google Fonts — supplies typefaces used in the site design.
jsDelivr — delivers open source code libraries that our page layout, tabbed sections, and scrolling behavior depend on.
Spark Plugin — supplies display and formatting components used throughout the site design.
Code and Tonic — supplies the timeline component used on our company pages.
Square Refresh — supplies a navigation component used on the site.
Cloudflare CDN — delivers the icon set used in the site design.
The providers above are used for website functionality and appearance. They are not used for advertising, and we do not receive analytics or marketing information from them. Because they load from servers outside our website, they do receive your IP address and information about the page you are viewing.
Requires Consent
Google Maps — the interactive map on our contact page. This does not load unless you allow it. If you decline, a placeholder appears in its place and you can still reach us using the address and phone number listed on that page.
4. Full List of Cookies
The table below lists every cookie and similar technology detected on this website, what each one does, who sets it, and how long it lasts. It is updated automatically when our website is rescanned.
5. How to Manage Your Preferences
When you first visit our website, a consent banner asks which categories you want to allow. You can choose to allow everything, refuse everything, or select individual categories.
You can change your choice at any time by opening the consent control on our website or by visiting our Your Privacy Choices page.
You can also manage cookies through your browser settings, which allow you to block or delete cookies from any website. Be aware that blocking necessary cookies may prevent parts of our website from working.
6. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a signal your browser or a browser extension can send that communicates your privacy preference automatically. Our website detects this signal and applies it to your consent settings without requiring you to make the choice manually.
Our website does not respond to Do Not Track signals, because no common industry standard for interpreting them has been adopted.
7. Updates to This Statement
We may update this Cookie Statement as the tools on our website change. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision. The cookie table in Section 4 updates automatically as our website is rescanned.
